Flingle uses a ‘traffic light’ system to show your relationship with other people and groups.
is a positive rating and means that you consider them to be a friend, or you like the look of them and are interested in getting to know them better.
is the default setting for people you’ve not yet rated, or people who you’ve not got a strong opinion about one way or the other.
is a negative rating and should only be used when somebody has done something to seriously annoy or upset you.
To be accepted onto your friends list, somebody must have both given you a positive rating, and received a positive rating from you too.
Once somebody is on your friends list you will be able to send them messages and invite them to join your groups.
Other people are listed as potential friends - which means that one of you, but not both, have given a positive rating.
At the final step of the registration process you are given the chance to enter the names and email addresses of up to ten friends.
If these friends are already signed up to Flingle, they will automatically be awarded a positive rating.
If they’re not members, you are given the option of sending them an automated email asking them if they’d like to join.
Once you’re logged in, at any time you can search for people to add to your friends list.
You can either search for a specific person by name or email address, or do a general search based on a geographical area.
Hopefully before long your friends list will be full of names.
Because once you’ve got some people in your friends list it’s time for Step 3...
